Heavy Construction Industry

ERD began our heavy construction work on Komatsu dashboard controls and expanded into a wide range of control modules found in a vast range of construction equipment. We routinely work on equipment such as skid steers, dozers, excavators and a wide range of concrete road equipment. Due to the extreme conditions these units are exposed, it makes repairing them difficult.

Heavy construction equipment electronics play an important role in enhancing the efficiency, safety, and precision of various heavy machinery used in construction projects. These electronics can be broadly categorized into monitoring, control systems, and automation solutions.

Monitoring provides real-time data on equipment performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs, allowing operators to optimize usage and prevent breakdowns.

Control systems generally encompass the engine and transmission controls found on these large pieces of equipment.

Automation solutions, such as advanced sensors and robotics, contribute to increased productivity and safety by automating repetitive tasks and minimizing human intervention in hazardous environments. An example of this type of electronics are the Gomaco controls that use a number of sensors. The integration of these electronic systems not only improves overall construction site management but also contributes to cost-effectiveness and sustainability in the heavy construction industry.

Instrument Clusters and Controls & Engine and Transmission Control Modules

ERD repairs the entire range of electronics used in construction equipment. Our definition of construction equipment is any machine used for the overall building of structures and that the machine is moveable to and from a site. This would include dozers, skid steers, excavators plus scissor and boom lifts. We also work on specialized construction equipment used to build the road with either with concrete or asphalt. These types of equipment contain an array of electronics to enable a flat surface to be poured.

The types of controls and electronics we repair for these machines include instrument clusters and controls, engine control modules and transmission control modules. We have developed a large number of fully simulated tests using our test fixtures to simulate the entire system. This allows us to verify that the unit is completely operational.
